Neighbors Advocating for Responsible Growth in LA
CRND-LA protects Los Angeles neighborhoods by calling out deceptive high-intensity uses in low-density zones. We support new housing but oppose RD2 parcels being run as RD3-style boarding houses whose per-bedroom leasing overwhelms parking, infrastructure, and community character.
Developers present these projects as compliant on paper, so they move through approvals with little scrutiny. By the time the de facto boarding-house use is obvious, the building is permanent, enforcement is usually just a modest fine while operations continue, and neighbors—not the City—are left to fight lengthy court battles, hollowing out the meaning of zoning laws.
